This product is sold out and currently not available.
AT's surgical hernia truss is designed to provide temporary relief from reducible inguinal hernia in your groin, pre or post-surgery. Double soft foam rubber pads - one on the left side, and one on the right - apply constant, gradual and adjustable pressure and support to the weakened muscles of the groin, maximizing aid and relieving discomfort. Lightweight at 7 ounces, it includes a double-layer elastic waist, fully ventilated hook-and-loop lined pad pockets and adjustable hook-and-loop flannel leg straps. The AT truss allows complete freedom of movement in almost any physical activity, can be worn inconspicuously under clothing, and may be used while bathing or swimming. Easy to put on and take off, the AT truss gives you firm and dependable pressure, containment and support needed to maintain your active lifestyle.
PLEASE NOTE: A hernia truss should only be worn in limited, short-term circumstances and is not a replacement for surgery. Talk to your doctor and discuss treatment options before wearing.
INSTRUCTIONS: The foam rubber pads can be positioned in the fully ventilated hook-and-loop lined pockets, with additional reinforcing straps to give maximum aid and comfort. This is usually best accomplished when lying down in order to locate hernia opening. If necessary, coughing will help to find the exact location. Pressure upward and inward will usually place hernia properly; at this spot the truss pad is located to contain the hernia while the truss is being worn. To adjust the leg straps, spread open the hook-and-loop lined pockets located between the layers of the waistband, then a pull upward and/or sideways will bring the leg straps into proper position. For maximum comfort, be sure that the flannel leg straps follow the gluteal crease at the base of the cheek. After putting garment on for the first time, check all areas of adjustments to be sure that all fastenings are secure: waistband closure, leg straps and truss pad. After these initial adjustments it is usually adequate for all the times it is worn thereafter. From then on, it is as easy to put on as any other undergarment. An additional feature is the adjustable waistband closure which also allows for more comfortable fastenings due to changes in body measurements for exercise, eating, etc.
